Fox Clot Series

2015-Present

The Fox Clot series started with a botanical drawing that knotted itself into a tangle of flowers and leaves. The foxes came next. One by one they popped their heads out of hiding places within the leaves. They hid and peeked through the clotted flowers, allowing only a few to be seen at first glance, manifesting the more traditional idea of what these animals symbolize: coyness, seduction and beauty, conversely harbouring potential threats of violence and deception.

This is an ongoing exploration in composition, collage and drawing.
